Question by Pumpkin: Why do schools only teach girls about sex and with the nurse & videos?

Also, why is the HPV vaccine only mandatorily administered to girls in Texas in Sept. '08? Why are girls being targeted when boys/men can also carry and have genital warts/HPV?

When I was in school in 3rd grade they only took the girls from the class and left the boys clueless. The boys never got a presentation from the nurse with specially made videos and things like that. I went to a public school with plenty of funding.
My information is from yahoo.com news. I live in Tx and this news is from today from Gov. Rick Perry. I specifically states that is for girls. By the way, men can have HPV, too. HPV causes cancer--cervical cancer is caused by a virus.
The new vaccine will protect girls from a few strains of HPV/gential warts. In the encyclopedia HPV is defined as genital warts but ppl can have HPV without genital warts or any symptoms. Men and women can have HPV and genital warts. Men can give HPV to women.

As for boys learning about the male sexual system....this never happened. They were never missing from class during, before or after the girls' presentation. Hopefully this will change in the future. The nurse was a lady, just so you know, but teachers and doctors were there, too. We had to sit on the floor and I could barely see the charts. I learned more from my parents & the internet.
